About Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud (1856–1939) was an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis, a clinical method for treating psychopathology through dialogue between a patient and a psychoanalyst. He developed foundational theories about the unconscious mind, dream interpretation, and the structure of the psyche. His work fundamentally transformed how humanity understands the self, behavior, and mental illness.
Human behavior is largely driven by unconscious desires, repressed memories, and internal psychological conflicts; understanding and bringing these hidden forces into conscious awareness is the path to psychological freedom and self-knowledge.
"One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful."
"Most people do not really want freedom, because freedom involves responsibility, and most people are frightened of responsibility."
"Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways."
