About Phil Knight
Phil Knight is the co-founder and former CEO of Nike, Inc., one of the world's most recognized and valuable brands. He started the company in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports, initially importing Japanese running shoes, before rebranding as Nike in 1971. Knight built Nike from a trunk-of-a-car startup into a multi-billion dollar global empire.
Knight believed in relentless pursuit of a calling rather than just a career, embracing risk, failure, and unconventional thinking as essential ingredients of building something great. He championed the idea that business is a creative act, not merely a financial one.
"Have faith in yourself, but also have faith in faith itself."
"Life is growth. You grow or you die."
"The cowards never started and the weak died along the way. That leaves us, ladies and gentlemen. Us."
