John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917–1963) was the 35th President of the United States, serving from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. A former naval officer and congressman, he became one of the youngest presidents in U.S. history and led the nation through the Cuban Missile Crisis and the early Space Race.
