About Jack Ma
Jack Ma is a Chinese business magnate and philanthropist who co-founded Alibaba Group, one of the world's largest e-commerce and technology conglomerates. Born in Hangzhou, China in 1964, he famously failed his university entrance exams multiple times and was rejected from dozens of jobs, including KFC, before building a business empire. He served as Executive Chairman of Alibaba until 2019 and is one of the wealthiest people in Asia.
Ma believes that failure and rejection are the foundations of resilience, and that entrepreneurs must focus on customers first, employees second, and shareholders third. He emphasizes optimism, persistence, and the importance of learning from mistakes.
"Today is cruel. Tomorrow is crueler. And the day after tomorrow is beautiful."
"If you don't give up, you still have a chance. Giving up is the greatest failure."
"I'm not a tech guy. I'm looking at the technology with the eyes of my customers, normal people's eyes."
