About Aristotle
Aristotle (384–322 BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher and polymath, a student of Plato and teacher of Alexander the Great. He founded the Lyceum in Athens and made foundational contributions to logic, ethics, politics, metaphysics, biology, and rhetoric. His works have shaped Western philosophy and intellectual tradition for over two millennia.
The good life is achieved through the active exercise of virtue and reason — eudaimonia is not a feeling but a way of living in accordance with one's highest capacities. Character is built through habit, and excellence is a practice, not a gift.
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."
"Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom."
"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."
