About Mahatma Gandhi
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869–1948), known as Mahatma Gandhi, was an Indian lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist, and political ethicist who led India's nonviolent independence movement against British rule. He became a global symbol of peaceful resistance and moral courage. His life was a living experiment in truth, simplicity, and self-discipline.
Gandhi believed that truth (Satya) and nonviolence (Ahimsa) are the highest virtues, and that lasting change begins with the transformation of the self. He taught that one must 'be the change you wish to see in the world.'
